so this winter i did a little work on my 14. stock headers came off, cut out the cat, re-welded, bead-blasted, and painted em'. bolt back up w/ new header gaskets, and kept the yohi tri oval pipes. installed pcIII under seat (very difficult to run wires this way, but very clean look and accessible). took out secondary butterflies. installed smog block-off plates and plugged re-breather. installed Ivans new map for 08's. Ivan helped me on the phone setting the idle and throttle settings for my bike. Still have a little adjustment to do on idle setting. slapped on a new rear tire (PP 2ct). changed the oil, air filter, and cleaned chain. Finally got a break in the weather and went out for a 30mile test ride. All i can say is wow. stock the bike always felt as if there was a ton of power on hand, but you had to be willing to reach down and grab it to get all the bike had to offer. Not so now. the bike requires much less input to get impressive output. Nice linear power, no noticeable dip or lag. very pleased. I really am impressed.
I have a 4 day Arkansas ride planned in a few weeks. now i just need to install my new gps w/ techmount. I think Im going to install a weather resistant fuse bus first. Im running a radar detector w/ heads up display, the gps, and a 12 volt outlet in the dash. Im going to spend a little time upgrading the wiring using a sea gate fuse bus under the seat. Then I should be good to go.
I have a few pics of the header work if someone wants to host em.
